General :
Lots of great updates this week ! New games , more action happening in the hand held combat department ! Several tours have been being scheduled and given for the UCIMC and learning of all the new prospects to come !
We also have a strong lack of " social media presence " which now is realized the importance of this . And it is not marketing . To what ? We have no product . Clicks give no money to buy game soft and upgrades or repairs . What it does do , is bring a bit of shine to others days . Make friends from afar . A little excitement . And most of , to inspire others .
This week a great deal of time had been spent looking into this , and we are going to do just that . Step it back up .
Broadcast :
We're now a Twitch Affiliate ! With a growing viewership we can now offer a lot more features and are putting more focus into updating things related to our Stream ! Twitch staff has been incredibly supportive in explaining a multitude of their systems and better ways to interact with homies watching from afar ! Very cool that they seem to dig what we do ! We had a very similar experience with Matcherino as well when beginning that partnership .
Our format will not change , there are no new rules . Our content was explained at length and explained to us that our marking advisories at our own will and following all guidelines was appreciated and will be of no issue going forward . The reason for this is that advertisers can choose what content classifications they wish to appear in or abstain from .
The additional content classification has been added : Sexual Themes
Our Stream is currently marked as follows , which does not mention sexual themes , this may just take time to update . These content classifications are set by default for all Streams . These will ONLY be removed for certain events where all-ages guidelines are observed .
We are now required to follow a 24 hour exclusivity rule . Meaning that we're only able to upload VODs or Clips from the Stream after 24 hours . Any other media will be unaffected .
We now have all the notifications updated , for all sub types . We've added emotes, sub-specific emotes, badges and badge flair .
Hardware :
Last weekend it was discovered the switcher for the two Versatile Cities requires additional hardware to prevent a handshake from occurring when switching. This handshake caused terrible desync. This has been resolved and the Versitile City can switched to stream between the two now.
The DDR/ITG Solo setup now has some lighting !
giphy.gif (Size: 13.5 MB / Downloads: 9)
DDR/ITG Solo , also had another issue of the pad sliding which was only now casually brought up . This has resolved ! Tested by before pushing it by hand , slides ! Wow ! This was very bad !
Now pushed by hand , you REALLY have to push hard to eventually get it to move , so done quite well ! We will listen to feedback to improve this !
Title Updates :
Samurai Shodown
Ultra Fight Da Kyanta 2
Idol Shodown
DNF DUEL
Skullgirls 2nd Encore
Titles :
The following titles have been added on Cab and Main Stage ,
Maiden Cops ( Currently running in Demo Mode till Q1 2024 )
River City Girls 2
Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons
Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!
The following have been added for the PS246 ,
Dead Or Alive 2 Hardcore
Backyard Wresting 2: There Goes The Neighborhood
Celebrity Deathmatch
Fate/Unlimited Codes
Future Location :
The IMC has just received a grant to have the flooring of the lower level completely re-done . Part of this will be with the inclusion of Room 28 , which as most of you may now , at this time is bare concrete . Which would be fine for us , but one day , we could out grow this space and the building should have it setup to be rentable from future tenants !
We're still speculating Summer 2024 however this could be pushed out due to the flooring install .
We will be in talks soon on this again !

EDIT: I POSTED THIS LATE OMG IM SORRY !
Merry KITHMas everyone ! Short update for this week ! Not all that much as been required at this time , everything has been relaxed and cool however we do have more updates to share for the next update of all the things taking place and starting this Saturday !
So let's start this one off !
Space :
We finally have the Christmas Table Cloths out !
( NOW PRINTING )
The Hall Couch will be INOP short term due to having to be flipped up on it's side in order to bring in the Soul Calibur 2 machine ! Apologies for those who really enjoyed it . We're actively searching for a way to lay things out better for this ! Though the fate of it is quite limited . It's a bit busted up and requires to be held up by landscaping stones so maybe a nice upgrade in our future for the couch is needed ! We shall see !
The Cage has now a whiteboard ! A generous donation from last weekend ! This will be perfect for using with our future streaming station at the out of house location !
Though as you can see , maybe we need some whiteboard cleaner and better dry erase markers !
We have also added a speaker to the downstairs hall , mounted currently in the Mahjong Pit , wired back up the stereo in the Upstairs Hall .
YouTube :
The " Heard At Araiguma Battle " Playlist is now set to be in order of " Date Added ( Newest ) " so if you hear something new , you do not have to dig as heavily to find things .
date added.png (Size: 6.28 KB / Downloads: 5)
The " Heard At Araiguma Battle " Playlist has been getting pointed to and asked about a lot so some looking at it was done in a way we can make this a bit better . Added a disclaimer in the description that not everything you hear may be found on this playlist . This is due to two reasons . One is a channel deleted by the user . The other can be due to takedowns or regional restrictions .
A new playlist , " Heard at KITHMas " has been added !
Hardware :
Last week we had announced the Versatile City B being streamable but not quite yet ! We also announced updating the broadcast selector which will also be intended to be installed today. If we're successful at these two updates , we will update this announcement and log them here , of course not editing this text ! ^_^ but we can have some fun pictures to add !
This Saturday we will be receiving the Soul Calibur 2 machine ! All loaded up and ready to go !
The build thread can be viewed here for more details : Soul Calibur 2 Build Thread
Titles :
Granblue Fantasty Versus Rising has released ! However due to current budget constraints , we are unable to support his title at this time . When there is enough player interest for a title , we will always find a way . However at present time , not enough interest has been taken so we must be cautious in how we spend at this time .
A funding drive has been discussed by a group of players who may possibly donate the title .
As always we will keep an eye on the interest level . It's purely due to budget !
Tekken 8 and Under Night In-Birth 2 [Sys:Celes] are planned supported titles and WILL be available at launch .
Budget :
Since this has come up here and around the arcade so much , I wanted to quickly comment that this is a short term issue . ANY hardware that fails will take top priority along with game updates we WILL find a way .
Also to note this has zero impact on future events or the future location . This is purely temporary ! Rest assured !

Alright, doing a second Versatile City since the player base has been growing so much for 3rd Strike, we needed a second! I was on the lookout for more monitors and Naomi mentioned she could donate a pair of like sets!
A lot of people have been reaching out asking how these are done, so this will be split to two different threads, one for the current Versatile City ( A ) and this new one ( B ) which is more of a log of the process.
Your setup will most likely vary. The beauty of this over a cab is it's versatility and movability. You can bring it to an event in a car, you can take it to a major with you more easily, you can plug in whatever the hell you want with nice lower hour tubes and hardware, it's just an infinite number of variables.
Versatile City B here is using two Sylvania 20" TVs, both with S-VIDEO and Composite input. If you have S-VIDEO use it over Composite. If you have Component, use that over S-VIDEO and Composite.
Something that catches some I've spoken with off guard, is don't worry about finding the same set to put back to back. Some can argue that on side has better picture than the other or whatever have you, but you can say the same about varying age on a persons sticks, you can say it about two like cabs, and same for two of the same TVs.
Getting them the same, or at least within the same series to look the same, is great if you can do it, but if you just find two of the same size, head to head those!! You'll eventually find a like pair if you really hunt for it.
1P Side = Sylvania 6420FE (Tube/Chassis TBD)
2P Side = Sylvania CR202SL8 (Tube/Chassis TBD)
We're using Radio Shack S-VIDEO / Composite / Audio Splitter/Amplifier. This is important! Passive splitting will not work (Very well), you must have an active splitter, meaning powered. The system you're hooking up, to the input type your TVs have will vary!
Any sort of good Digital to Analog Video Converter or sometimes called "HDMI to A/V" or "HDMI to S-VIDEO" converters. Buy enough, open enough, from 20$ to 100$ and you're sure to find the same chips and they will show up under Display Properties in windows as Macrosilicon (Though, won't specifically say a chip ID, you might find that under device manager if you dig). You can check them all out HERE. These guys are very popular for their chips, and do great stuff.
To get as close an angle to the Sega VS City, the wood block size used is: 3" D x 2-1/4" H (Length is dependent on the TV size - If you have a table saw, you can do a nice wedge to get your perfect angle!)
Then comes your USB disconnects. If you don't want to tether them to your table, you can screw in wire tie mounts to your monitor angle blocks, or use adhesive backing to tack them to the monitor, whatever you fancy. Ours are mounted on the tables. Something you'll want to be aware of, is USB length. The shorter the better, but in the case of a Versatile City, that's easier said than done.
You factor in your players. If their pad or stick has a 6ft to 10ft USB cable, and you have a 6ft USB disconnect from the game system of choice, you're at 12-16ft.
USB 2.0 Max length on a passive cable is 16FT. USB 1.0 is half that. So to eliminate any issues, no matter the length of your disconnect, even if 3ft, you want a "bus powered" meaning no external power, it's powered at the USB port (editing to say, you can use external power if you find a situation -- we only need bus powered so that's why it's mentioned here), "Active USB Extension". Bluerigger does really great Active Extensions, after a certain length they have an external power option in addition to bus power.
You also need a power strip that can handle everything. If you expand to streaming your setup, want to add fans or additional speakers, spectator monitors, you'll need something with enough outlets to compensate. We use the Belkin F9D1000-15:
So with all of that, here is a handy A/V Diagram you can use to see how it all goes together:
And here is the Head to Head Room as it currently sits with the new Versatile City!

Hi!
One of the reasons this forum was made was to publicly document how we do a lot of stuff so we have links to point to when getting asked questions like, how are certain things done? I want to do this too!
Since it's been such a long time topic too, this is super exciting! Firstly, huge thanks to everyone who donated on the Ko-Fi! 80% of our goal was initially covered till the goal had to be kicked up in order to support a Live Monitor!
Something we will use for this version and those of the future! This was originally just explaining the process of streaming MBON, however a lot of interest online had shown, people were also interested in just getting a LAN also going at their spaces!
Notes :
Everything here, this will work for any HDMI device (or other with conversions). XBOX 360s, PS4s and even Namco BNA1. So we have lots of compatibility for all types of scenarios.
The important part of this system is the function of the HDMI Multi Viewer. The functionality will allow for the switching between showing between Team A split screen, Team B split screen, Team A and B split screen, and each players view for up to 4 players! Allowing the one behind the broadcast to follow the action!
System Video Diagram :
(Required only if Streaming)
Network Diagram :
(Required for LAN Play)
Network Diagram.JPG (Size: 25.48 KB / Downloads: 10)
We're using a Cisco SG100D-08, 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch but you can use any 5 port switch. The cabling is color coded because it spares us having to buy a label maker and makes tracing easy, it's not following anyone's standards. Just loosely based on how many arcades would color code player 1 through 4 (most common I've seen people do).
The connection to PSN is for a license check, due to all 4 machines having digital copies of the game. This was done based on speculation, but we have not tested a fresh boot of all systems, running LAN mode, without being connected to the public internet (to reach PSN from the LAN).
At this time, to replicate exactly what we are doing here, there is a connection back to PSN. It's also thought, that this PSN connection is only required if doing game sharing (2 copies of the game, 4 consoles).
It is also possible that 4 physical copies of the game might not require this either, far more likely (if confirmed about the license check without game sharing). Again would also need confirmed. These discs are about 65-80 a copy, JPN language only.
Navigating LAN Play :
Since this is actually unintuitive, it's totally work documenting here.
Game start screen, press start
You will find yourself at the main menu
Navigate to the right, to the OPTIONS menu, then down to LAN BATTLE
Now, select create ' Create Room : Free Teams '
You are now in the Team Selection mode . When setting up , ensure that one side chooses Team A and the other side chooses Team B.
To demonstrate, I will select Team A, which will put me in the left slot (I am sitting on the left side of the Team A side of the table). The person beside me, would highlight Team A and select it, they would be assigned to the position on the right, the exact seat in which they are sitting.
Note, that you must have 4 players to create 2 teams for a game to start. With 1, 2 or 3 players you will be stuck in the grid "training" arena while waiting for the forth.
Once 4 players are selected, the game can begin!
Will update this guide once we we have 4 systems setup again and can provide more accurate screenshots. At that time this message in bold will be deleted.
