General :
Things have been rather busy and the last two weekly updates got missed ! This was due to a few things , for one lots of events we had to prepare for . Also working with a new buyer in Japan for the Select Shop side of things ! Working out logistics of additional equipment , updates to our branding and just a TON of back end stuff . On the note of branding , we’ve now got ‘ Store Cards ‘ ! !
Please take one to collect or a couple to give to friends ! We’ll keep em stocked ! They can also be found at many of our neighbors downtown ! As our service expands we can be more comfortable in coming out of the shadows ( just a biiiiiiiiiiiit ) .
New shelving as been added to expand the Select Shop inventory , in addition to carefully curated very hard to find selection of drinks , then American classics , we have the previously available online/pickup stock on site ! Laser Discs to Japanese Electronics , Computer Parts , DVDs and Figures with a large back selection being added to the website ( part of another overhaul ! ).
What’s a LaserDisc ? Well , it looks like a record from the outside , same size , so you have a really cool cover . They are rare wall candy . Giant wall art that looks so swagged out in your place . Note that some covers may look otherwise – we do not carry anything containing R-18 aka 18+ content .
Everything else has also has it’s place in useability ! As has been shown by the crew that bought every single CIB boxed Japanese DVD player and Audio Interface we had LOL
Building :
Shoutout to Dj BJ Clark who is taking up the big overhaul of the flooring on the lower level . All the tile removal is now even , and work will resume through next week and be completed by Friday hours . The final flooring will be the bare concrete painted white . There are future plans to paint the hallways .
Space :
Audio has been upgraded ! Now with a giant beast receiver , a future plan includes a run to the hallway for those playing live sets ! For those who don’t know , one of those projects previously and vaguely mentioned as back end stuff ( Since I don’t like to announce “not yets”) we’ve got some cool stuff planned in the way of jam sessions and live electronic music . The sound quality has seen a great improvement too . Not just from this either !
The sound system has also been upgraded with some vintage modded CS-22As ! With the ultra hot ESI moved to the hallway to replace the budget one we had there . Naomi and I spent a little over 6 hours working on placement , installation and tuning of this system , and it’s a much bigger improvement than expected !
More lighting updates ! The Cafe area has a much better vibe with the lighting now as it continues to expand and grow in popularity for a hang / eating space .
Hardware :
DDR has had the monitor adjusted for a more accurate angle .
We have also adjusted the layout to allow us to finally bring in Two Player DDR ! A second pad will be added today . Please bare with us as we bring it up to the hardware spec that the current one has reached with many upgrades . Yes . The dreaded ‘ player 2 controller ‘ situation will be with DDR ( Only cosmetically and no bar , accuracy and feel are consistent ) !
We are in the process of increasing to the larger monitor size . We hope to have this improvement soon . So please finally enjoy two player ! We will continuously be providing upgrades to this system .
Pop’n Music is seeing many upgrades ! First the sound ! The sound system has improved with the introduction of better speakers , better speaker placement and a subwoofer . There is also support for headphones and more accessible audio management .
Additionally today we will be upgrading the frame of this machine . This will provide increased stability ( no rocking ) , a further upgrade to speaker / subwoofer placement , cab matching monitor height , cab matching distance between the control panel and monitor . This will match the frame to be seen next here !
There may be a brief interruption in service for Pop’n Music ! Downtime is not expected to exceed 2 hours and will happen very early in the day .
STG Station has been upgraded ! A complete system now , with additional lighting coming soon !
