Araiguma Battle : 4 Player Local MBON ( Lan + Stream) !
#1
Hi!

One of the reasons this forum was made was to publicly document how we do a lot of stuff so we have links to point to when getting asked questions like, how are certain things done? I want to do this too!

Since it's been such a long time topic too, this is super exciting! Firstly, huge thanks to everyone who donated on the Ko-Fi! 80% of our goal was initially covered till the goal had to be kicked up in order to support a Live Monitor!

Something we will use for this version and those of the future! This was originally just explaining the process of streaming MBON, however a lot of interest online had shown, people were also interested in just getting a LAN also going at their spaces!

Notes :

Everything here, this will work for any HDMI device (or other with conversions). XBOX 360s, PS4s and even Namco BNA1. So we have lots of compatibility for all types of scenarios.

The important part of this system is the function of the HDMI Multi Viewer. The functionality will allow for the switching between showing between Team A split screen, Team B split screen, Team A and B split screen, and each players view for up to 4 players! Allowing the one behind the broadcast to follow the action!

We're using a Cisco SG100D-08, 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch but you can use any 5 port switch. The cabling is color coded because it spares us having to buy a label maker and makes tracing easy, it's not following anyone's standards. Just loosely based on how many arcades would color code player 1 through 4 (most common I've seen people do).

The connection to PSN is for a license check, due to all 4 machines having digital copies of the game. This was done based on speculation, but we have not tested a fresh boot of all systems, running LAN mode, without being connected to the public internet (to reach PSN from the LAN).

At this time, to replicate exactly what we are doing here, there is a connection back to PSN. It's also thought, that this PSN connection is only required if doing game sharing (2 copies of the game, 4 consoles).

It is also possible that 4 physical copies of the game might not require this either, far more likely (if confirmed about the license check without game sharing). Again would also need confirmed. These discs are about 65-80 a copy, JPN language only.

Navigating LAN Play :

Since this is actually unintuitive, it's totally work documenting here.

Game start screen, press start

You will find yourself at the main menu

Navigate to the right, to the OPTIONS menu, then down to LAN BATTLE

Now, select create ' Create Room : Free Teams '

You are now in the Team Selection mode . When setting up , ensure that one side chooses Team A and the other side chooses Team B.

To demonstrate, I will select Team A, which will put me in the left slot (I am sitting on the left side of the Team A side of the table). The person beside me, would highlight Team A and select it, they would be assigned to the position on the right, the exact seat in which they are sitting.

Note, that you must have 4 players to create 2 teams for a game to start. With 1, 2 or 3 players you will be stuck in the grid "training" arena while waiting for the forth.

Once 4 players are selected, the game can begin!

Will update this guide once we we have 4 systems setup again and can provide more accurate screenshots. At that time this message in bold will be deleted.
