The Araiguma: Advanced Battle Center
is a free play grassroots Underground Arcade dedicated to fighting games , rhythm and old school competitive arcade gaming .
We are primarily donation funded . We do not charge for entry or play . There is no age requirement for entry .
A space for people to ” grind it out, get competitive as f***, drink coffee, eat snacks and make friends “
Our primary focus is fostering a community of fighting/rhythm game and competitive old school arcade gaming players . A space to meet and a space to compete .
We are always growing . As demand grows so do we . What you see , is not only what you will get . We grow organically , and are always observing to make adjustments . You can follow along with our ‘ Weekly Update ‘ !
We have a rich and deep history with complex culture . Joining us online via Discord or especially coming to the arcade , you can experience what is known as the Araiguma Spirit .
All games are played best 2 of 3 . Winner stays , loser rotates out . To enter a rotation , announce that you have next in line . Remember the face of the person before you and after you .
In the ‘ Parking Area ‘ , we have tables and chairs for you to enjoy food ( that you bring ! ) and drinks ( from us or your own ) , discuss matches and just hang out .
Complete with a ” Live Monitor ” to display current tournament play or rare / lost arcade media from our ‘ Foot Clan Collection ‘ ( 70% only viewable in-house at current ) .
We also have a Riichi Mahjong Club , The Urbana Mahjong Pit that meets every Saturday just down the hall here in our building !
