Code of Conduct
Section 1 . 1 : Key Values
Our key values can be summed up in four simple words: “Don’t be an asshole.” This is a community space, a third place that is vital to many people.
As the concept of the third place diminishes in our country and what does exist is of limited scope, we recognize the importance of providing such environment, free from bullshit.
Code of Conduct
Section 1 . 2 : Notice To Minors and Parents or Guardians of Minors
We get asked a lot , ” Can I bring ” X ” who is ” X ” years old ( Under 18 ) ? We welcome members of all ages to our events and community, including minors .
However, due to the nature of some content and activities, the following guidelines must be accepted by BOTH the attendant ( anyone under the age of 18 ) AND their parent or guardian :
Mild Language : Some use of mild language may occur during events and within the community.
As long as both parties are alright with this , we are too !
By participating in Araiguma events or community spaces , both the minor and their parent or guardian acknowledge and accept these conditions .
Reach out if you have any questions !
Code of Conduct
Section 1 . 3 : Inclusivity and Diversity
Our policy is simple: Treat people like normal people.
Avoid otherizing individuals and remember that inclusivity should unite, not divide.
Please do not point out how someone is different from you.
Let everyone exist as they are and judge on character alone.
There is a saying here, “Araiguma is inclusive without having to tell you about it” (Except now we seem to be telling you!).
