12/21/24 – Weekly Update ( Merry KITHMAS ! )

General :

Merry KITHMAS ! It’s time for our annual Christmas Party complete with Secret Santa ! Many bringing Cookies and Egg Nog , it is going to be a good one ! For all of you new who have not attended our Christmas parties , we welcome you to a new wonderful tradition to share with us each year to come !

Doors open at 4PM as usual , with Secret Santa to happen around 5:30-6:30PM in an effort to ensure everyone has arrived on time ! It’s no secret there is much in the way of shipping delays at this time , and names were drawn a bit late so some may not be ready just yet . . Alas , we continue on over days to come and make it happen !

Urbana Riichi Mahjong Club :

We’re in the early stages of rolling out the subdomain for the club ! Many useful features will roll out from calendars for meeting times , club directory , news , event information and so much more !

Club admin have also meet with UCIMC coordinators and have determined a regular meeting space in Room 15 ( Aka Downstairs Meeting Room / Next door to Makerspace Urbana ) with an expected start date of January 11th , 2025 ! !

Space :

We have added an overhead sign for those approaching , they will be able to see more visibly what is ahead . Many kids walking by have said , ” whao , what is that place ? ” to be told ” I don’t know ” to ushered off . We wish to become more inviting to the curious !

More lighting adjustments have been made .

Broadcast :

We’re finally implementing a call-in feature for guest commentary and interviews ! We’re in the process of overhauling our system with many benefits to come . Audio processing has been improved , scene switching is returning and a new system for different layouts is in the works .

Hardware :

Today we are fielding a Sega Chunithm ! Please enjoy a gameplay basics introduction ! This machine will likely arrive during our store hours though we will ensure minimal disruption !

The second Versatile City has finally had it’s marquees added

Pop’n Music now has the monitor stabilized and no longer moves from vibration along with a POP now attached featuring the game title to match the version running !

An issue with Station A 2P side where the monitor goes black has been resolved . This was due to an improper driver install after the recent GPU upgrade , not due to a failing channel as suspected .

Game Soft :

Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite & Beyond has been released and we have it ! It will be a slow roll out due to time constraints but look to have this installed and working for expeditions hosted by Lottie ( Aka StyloRen ) on Stream this Saturday !
