12/14/24 – Weekly Update

General :

At this time we’re unable to have food and drinks in the arcade . It became too difficult to keep up with the maintenance that comes with them without a designated area away from equipment and people space . Drinks with lids are okay !

So we’re asking things are limited to drinks with lids . Food and open drinks welcome in the Halls . There are plans with a lot of restricting we’re doing to bring back an area to keep drinks . The fridge is remaining where it is and in use !

Also please do not place food/drinks/backpacks/etc on the equipment , on chairs or in isles 😁

Building :

The Elm Street Accessible Bathroom is no longer out of order ( Near DDR ) . You may see some water leaking from the floor drain , we have been assured this is not sewage but a water line .

Events :

A new addition to Good For Health Bad For Education ! Playing for Points . P4P is a format where you can now bet your points on the board ( You get a point for every 3 game win streak ) . You win , you take your opponents point and add to your tally . You lose , you know the deal . This is NOT limited to Wednesday nights ! You can play for points ANY night of the week .

 • The Uni League Finale for 2024 is coming up next Thursday , December 19th !

 • Ultra Fight Da Kyanta 2 Exhibition this Saturday ! Later in the night we will have streamed FT10s with Commentary out on the floor ! Interested in non-tournament exhibition sign ups? You can sign up for that here : Ultra Fight Da Kyanta 2 PPV

 • This is also the Saturday before our Holiday Party / Secret Santa ! This will be held at the arcade , and more information can be found on the Discord !

🏗️ We are currently implementing an Event Calendar as we begin to return to running regular events !

Space :

The wire rack that was previously used as a drinks table has been removed and replaced with our Donation Bucket and Guestbook . This was for a few reasons . The biggest is that the space is more valuable for spectating and getting around .

House controllers for community use are now on the shelf above the sink .

On the topic of better use of space , with the stream now finalized we were able to move the Versatile Cities over nearly a foot !

Then some more decor on the Versatile Cities . We’re still pending delivery of the missing marquees . Soon to come !

An additional speaker has been added . Previously only the speaker on top of the duct was wired . An additional speaker has been added to the opposite corner of the arcade

Hardware :

A second Japanese monitor frame has arrived , yet another incredibly generous donation from Birdland Arcade ! This means we now have both monitors for the Sega New Versus City and work can continue on the machine and bring it downtown .

Will this count as hardware ? Nothing complete but to update , we are still working on mounting our Hall Monitor back up outside our doors above the big info sign ! We now have concrete bits to mount the anchors !

Broadcast :

Yam’s office has had some some updates . We’ve added a light with 3 different color temp settings and dimmable . This helps whoever is running brackets see the keyboard more easily and generally better comfort .

3rd HQ Capture has been restored . The infrastructure for the better capture has been run . The overlay for 3rd Strike has also been updated !
