11/09/24 – Weekly Update
General :
Another great week with much in the way of updates ! To those who are new , our weekly update lands on a Saturday , due to us previously having been a Saturday only operation . Throughout the week we would always be updating and have that information ready for Saturday !
We have been making many improvements to things as we settle in . Our Rhythm Row setups have been undergoing many improvements in performance as well !
There is also a TON going on this weekend ! ! Some notable things to check out !
First , Lottie is running a new Marvel tournament series , Secret Wars ! Signups in the link ! Happening tomorrow !

Saturday we got Show Me Your Moves 24′ with doors opening at 10AM
Running along side the Illini Esports Invitational 2024 with Collegiate Events and Open to All FGC events in many titles ! Hit the links for details !
Happening next-door is Illini Vintage Fest ! Running 11AM to 6PM !
Space :
We are replacing our temporary sign !
With a full information sign ! With posted hours , and other information we would be asked about so it’s all there ! Encouraging curious folks in the community to come in and check us out .
We’ve also put up more stuff on the entrance ! The trash can and recycling has been moved further down after assessing the flow of foot traffic , there was a minor impedance of these . They are now located here:
It has been observed that a popular place to relax and eat your food is outside in the hallway here ! So we’re doing a couple of things ! First , we’re going to start having chairs out during our hours !
We are also working on setting up a ‘ Hall Monitor ‘ displaying the Stream , Salty Bet , Old School Anime , Kung Fu movies , whatever else of our usual that might be fitting for the time ! This will be great for those eating some food or just hanging out !
We need some decent anchors however to mount the mounts, being that we have an inch of plaster before hitting concrete !
So if you know anybody with some plastic ribbed screw anchors . . Tell em we’re looking . .

Available since 11/02/24 a big thanks to Leah for the donation of the Guilty Gear -Strive- Season Pass 4 !
Hardware :
A huge thanks to the 100$ donation from Nilla to upgrade our latest arrival ! Returning this Saturday to the new location ! Our dance game setup ! We’re upgrading to high impact pads for performance and changing out the plastic inactive panels to brushed metal finish for a better cosmetic appeal !
Shoutouts to her for making giving this a huge boost ! This setup has been an incredibly popular request in the community , not just with our fielding of the full size machine upstairs , but having our solo set in our Halls .
We’re also working on completing an old favorite with a new and improved dedicated station that can wheel out to our Hall !

Broadcast :
The chat monitor is back ! Though temporarily a bit overkill using a Windows tablet , we’re working on fielding an Android again , but the functionality has returned !
New Head to Head Overlay for 3rd Strike !
Infrastructure is now in place to run a hardwire connection from our internet access to Rhythm Row for when we have other Hall setups needing to be streamed for events . This connection will require staff assistance as it is disabled outside of our hours , or during unless required .
