04/12/24 – Weekly Update

General :

It’s grilling time at the magical gaming arcade abeno… araiguma ! Saturday’s high of 73 , low of 60 , it’s going to be good ! Talks of a tournament ? And . . 

The return of normal hours ! ! We’re rolling back to start again at 2PM instead of 4PM ! Closing still Midnight *

The Discord events are going back to being listed how they were before , manually for every Saturday . We tried the “Series” for repeating Saturdays but it merged all the people who click interested and spans it across every event for the next eternity . Also took away the ability to write about what is going on and have pictures . It’s a bit too impersonal , so they will be written manually every time again . 

We’re also starting up the photo wall of all the homies ! Bran brought her Instax for us to use . It was an ” early days ” plan for when we intended on setting up downtown , to have a big board of pics of everyone . So get swagged out and let someone know when you wanna get up ! Otherwise someone will come bother you about it at some point !

Space :

We got tiki torches for out back ! Outdoor setup space starting back up again . We’re short on power strips though ! Also working on getting a crap load of plastic chairs from an old wedding place that closed up recently for next to nothing . Hopefully something to show in next weeks update .

Added an intro and outro to the stream !

Hardware :

KOF 2002 UM hardware has been obtained !

We’ve got the Taito TTX3 set up and running , looking incredibly nice ! No need for Brooks on any controller types . There is a known conflict when using two Hori Controllers ( type seems to not matter ) where one prevents the other from connecting , but remedies fairly quickly .

Future Location :

So things are still mega postponed with absolutely zero ETA on the downtown space . As of now , the ADA entrance to the lower level is not currently wired to be able to open from the outside . This is a pending task higher up than Room 28 . There is also a major flooring rehab happening to B1 , also higher up . This flooring will also include flooring Room 28 , which would roll into construction of Room 28 as a rental space . This likely won’t happen this year but will keep an eye on it . The flooring of the entire lower level is a massive undertaking .
