03/22/25 – Weekly Update
General :
Couple super important safety things ! Tests came back , the tile in the hallways on the lower level are NOT asbestos . The tile that was below the original section of the building , has been entombed and floored over .
I am also installing a carbon monoxide detector in the arcade . There are no known issues , but realized our fire system is smoke only ! I don’t expect any sort of carbon monoxide in the arcade either , but I feel better with the sensors in place .
Special Event Notice :
We got two big ones starting with today and coming up next week ! Today we got the CUDO Plays Season 11 GRAND EXHIBITION from 1PM to 8PM ! With that comes the La Paloma ( Sorry , only a Facebook link ) food truck which will be parked on the big ramp on Elm Street !

Burgers and Tacos , lots of good stuff just a few steps out the Elm Street door .
The Urbana Mahjong Pit will be meeting UPSTAIRS during this time in collaboration with the CUDO Plays Event !
Then Friday , March 28th we’re open along side the Midnight Market and really excited about working with them on a building wide banger of a night !
More details on the discord but will be posting a mid week update on this with some more information since not everyone is on the discord !

Space :
Araiguma is now able to process Mag Swipe , Chip and Tap payments for Drinks / Snacks / Merch and donations ! Cards are finally accepted . Also including Apple Pay / Samsung Pay / Ect ( Tap via Phone ) .
Along with this we have expanded RacMart ! We’ve got tons of good stuff to fuel those long sessions !

Ume Choya has been restocked ! And now carrying . . Bacchus-D ! !

With the flooring at Makerspace complete , we now have our Hall back !

In the process of some more lighting updates ! These are half complete as shown , as there is actually a two tone cross blend of lighting to be happening but due to some delays , I got a bit held up on this , but still very very cool in person . I’m expecting to expand our hallway lighting quite a bit as well .

Discord :
Updated roles to display in sections . General Staff , Club Administration , Tournament Staff and Community members all now show separately on the sidebar ( Lurkers – We’re leaving you alone , no worries ! ) . Before everyone had shown as ” Online ” . This will allow the community to better find those they are looking to get in touch with , especially when seeking support from various staff as we grow .
I have also added new roles which can be assigned via the server guide ! There is a rapidly growing player base for these games and we all want to support this further as we go along !

Roles are important for finding people when looking for sets offline in the arcade and even online ! These also support future events and systems in the works ! Many cool things to come around all different types of games !
With every Weekly Update , anything done today is the foundation for something for tomorrow .
Building :
I’m shoving this all the way down here now .
One of the current ideas we’ve been kicking around , is removing all the old vinyl tile from the hallways . Along with this would be painting the walls to clean those up . The floors would look as they do in the arcade , and when paired with freshly painted walls , it looks quite nice ! Functional , DIY underground look of sorts while still being inviting .
Additionally , the ADA bathroom is having a couple issues . For one which is being investigated , is the toilet has been backing up . There is water on the floor , this is not sewage . There is a drainage system for rainwater which has a clean out in the bathroom , that needs opened and the threads taped correctly ( I think ! I hope ! ) . Toilet issues , we believe we have it narrowed down to a few things . Until we get this current blockage addressed , this restroom is out of order .
All other facilities are active and functional . The ones through Room 27A , or up the stairs from the Elm Street Entrance , at the very top there are both men’s and women’s toilets .
