02/08/25 – Weekly Update

General :

We’ve been down the last couple Wednesdays and Thursdays ( Saturdays remaining unaffected ) but are back online during weekdays again .

We also experienced a record level of internet issues and are finally in the talks of transitioning from the current building service to i3 Fiber . Despite all this we managed to run a great stream of Oki Oki Fisticuffs Club last Saturday !

And a big thanks to a young woman who brought us 2 19″ CRTs and a 25″ CRT which are now in the Araiguma Amusement Works Shop for modification to support MiSTer and other RGB based systems for future grind sessions and tournament play !

More tournament history has been logged to Competition Results with many more past tournaments remaining .

Tonight we have another round of exhibitions with Araiguma Battles !

A newly run series Underground Pokemon League being run by Lottie to start February 22nd ! A Current Series page is in the works for details but one to be on the lookout for !

Space :

New skirting was installed at the Versatile City B , fitting the vibe much better and providing better protection for the equipment

Website :

Soul Calibur 2 Rankings have been added . Currently tracking Conquest and Survival .

Hardware :

It has been discovered that Soul Calibur 2 has been running in 15khz ( low rez ) mode due to current monitor circuitry . We will however be in the works of upgrading this to 31khz ( medium rez ) . With this update we will be able to also connect to a DVR to begin uploading Soul Calibur 2 match footage to Araiguma Battle Movie ! We expect the upgrade and addition to roll out through next week !

The 2P side UP lever position has been repaired along with the installation of a brand new lever , now possible for 2 Player combat in all game types .

A huge thanks to Makerspace Urbana who recently had an upgrade to their space and had some storage equipment that would be perfect for our needs , and generously tossed it our way . This will allow us to better store additional hardware for fielding additional setups in supporting many other formats soon making their returns .

Game Soft :

A huge thanks to Matthew ( We miss you ! ) for the donation of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. – 30th Anniversary Edition ! This particular version means we have the legacy customization items, characters models, stages and music from the original Virtua Fighter .

However , the game is currently not supported due to it refusing to launch on any of our hardware . This is currently being investigated and hope to have it working soon .

We have also installed Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited ! Courtesy of our partner Arcade REVO !
